Should I Learn Linux on a Virtual Machine or Dual Boot?

I'm a student looking to learn Linux, but I'm not sure how to start. Should I use a virtual machine to avoid messing with my current Windows setup, or should I try dual booting? I've only dabbled in Pop!_OS on an old LG laptop, so any advice would be greatly appreciated. Also, if you have any tips on where to learn Linux command lines, that would be awesome!

I recommend sticking to a virtual machine for now. It keeps your main OS safe while you get the hang of Linux. Once you feel more confident with the install process, you can think about dual booting. Just remember to back up everything before you make any big changes!

I totally agree! That way, if something goes wrong, your Windows setup stays intact. Plus, you can experiment without worrying.

Definitely use a VM or, better yet, find an old laptop or desktop to play with. I love Linux, but I wouldn't want to risk my main system. Losing data on Windows can be a real nightmare!

Exactly! It’s all about keeping your important stuff safe while you learn.

Check out some online resources! There are great wikis and channels for beginners. And always take backups before trying new things!
