So, I'm having a real headache trying to install the proper Nvidia drivers on my Linux Mint setup. Initially, I get the basic Nouveau driver, but whenever I try to go for the proper one, my PC just bricks and crashes during boot. I'm looking for any tips or solutions to fix this!

For Linux Mint, it's best to use the Driver Manager for installing the proprietary Nvidia drivers. Avoid using drivers from any other sources. If your setup doesn’t support the versions available, it might complicate things even more. Also, it would be useful to know your hardware details, especially if you have both integrated Intel graphics and a dedicated Nvidia GPU.

If nothing else works, maybe consider trying a different distro like OpenSUSE or Fedora. They sometimes handle Nvidia drivers a bit more gracefully than Debian-based systems.

Make sure you're downloading the right drivers from the Nvidia site. This issue can be typical if the GPU isn't properly supported. Have you checked if your card needs something special? Sometimes waiting a bit after installation for the kernel module to build can also help—give it 5 minutes before rebooting.

It might help if you share which GPU you have and the specific driver version you're attempting to install. Are you using the Driver Manager in Mint or downloading from Nvidia's website?
