Hey everyone, I'm really struggling here with my AWS account. I've been hitting a brick wall trying to get support. Even though I've exchanged multiple emails with AWS and attempted to create a support case from their website, I just get the same generic replies every time. The main issue is that I can't log in because after entering my username and password, it prompts me for a verification code—one I never receive in my email.
When I try to reset my password, the same problem happens; I'm supposed to get a verification link, but it never arrives either. I'm not sure if my email provider, Xfinity, is blocking them or if AWS is just failing to send these emails at all. The support team tells me they can't assist unless I open a case through the support console, which I can't do since I can't log in. I even tried contacting Xfinity, but their tech support hasn't been helpful either. I'm just really exhausted and at my wit's end. I'd even consider having my bank block any payments to AWS at this point. Any advice on what I can do?

I totally get how frustrating that must be! Have you checked out the verification code document on AWS? It’s important to confirm your method for receiving codes, especially if you're dealing with multi-factor authentication (MFA). Here's a link that might help: https://go.aws/4kPSuox. If MFA is the issue, you can contact their MFA support team directly: https://go.aws/3G7prxI. If none of this works, you could share your case ID with me, and I’d be happy to look into it further!
I get the security concerns with account access. AWS is pretty strict about these protocols to protect user accounts. They won't confirm what email it's sending to either because of security issues, which can be a bit maddening when you're in a pinch. Suggesting you reach out with any verification information that could help expedite things is crucial here.
Right? I just want them to send the verification code to my actual registered email, which they shouldn’t have a problem doing. It feels overly complicated for what should be a quick fix.
Make sure you're logging in as the root user if it’s a new account. This is a common oversight. Just to clarify, the root login has a distinct process compared to IAM user logins, and that could mess things up if you’re not using the right method. Just double-check you're on the correct page!
I appreciate the tip! I am logging in as the root user, but that’s when I run into the verification code email issue. It's so frustrating!
Thanks for the suggestion! I’ll check those links, but I can’t message you since that option is greyed out. I’ll provide my case ID here—maybe you can help from there?
