Strange Outgoing Calls from My Mom’s iPhone – What Could Be Happening?

My mom recently noticed two outgoing calls from her iPhone to a number in Santa Barbara, CA, but we live in Serbia and have no ties to anyone in that area. The calls were short, 29 seconds and 30 seconds long. She's blocked the number but is really confused about it. Can anyone shed some light on what might be going on or offer advice?

It sounds like your mom's phone might have some weird glitch or possibly a dialing error. Sometimes iPhones can make calls that seem outgoing due to software issues or if someone accidentally dialed the number.

Yeah, I've heard that happening before! It could also be a spam call or something along those lines that got misinterpreted by the phone.

Check if any of the other folks in your home might’ve made the calls, even by mistake. Sometimes family members borrow phones or accidentally dial out. If it’s just you three, maybe review the call logs together for any clues.

It's just me, my brother, and mom, and I'm the only one who dabbles a bit in tech, but I'm no expert. We did rule out accidental calls.
