Hey everyone, I'm having a frustrating issue with my Asus barebones servers that come with IPMI. While connecting works fine, I'm hitting a wall when trying to type in the KVM viewer. All the letter keys respond, but the function keys like Shift, Command, and Alt aren't working at all, and I'm completely unable to enter special characters such as /, -, _, or |. This really hampers my ability to copy-paste commands, and using the on-screen keyboard is just not practical. This problem has popped up across different mainboard models and ages, and I'm working on an Asus Vivobook from this year. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I totally get your struggle! Typing long passwords on IPMI is a nightmare, especially since you can’t see what you’re entering. One thing you could try is changing your keyboard layout to US. It tends to play nicer with IPMI and might solve some of your issues.
