I received a suspicious email sent to my secondary email account, which I primarily use for newsletters and promotional testing. The email appears to be from myself and contains an old password. I've found out that many others also received the same email. The message claimed that I was hacked, with threats of revealing private content unless I transferred money to a Bitcoin account. This freaked me out! Besides the immediate concern of this email, I'm curious about the best ways to manage my passwords and emails to boost my security. Should I disable Google's automatic login? What tools or practices would you recommend? Thanks!

You're not hacked; this is a typical scam trying to frighten you into sending money. Just delete that email and forget about it.
For managing your passwords, consider using a reputable password manager like KeepassXC or Bitwarden. They can help generate and securely store your passwords. Also, make sure to enable two-factor authentication whenever it's available. That way, you can have peace of mind about your online accounts.
I'm already using Bitwarden for storage, but I rely on Google logins for most sites apart from my bank. Should I rethink that approach?
