Help! Black Screen Issues After Installing Pop!_OS

Hey everyone! I'm new to Linux and I recently tried installing Pop!_OS for dual booting on my second SSD while keeping Windows 10 on the first SSD. I formatted my USB drive, but when I try to boot from it, I end up with a black screen and a deafening noise from my GPU, even after trying the 'nomodeset' option. I also attempted installing the NVIDIA version of Pop!_OS, but it still goes to a black screen with no fan noise this time. Could anyone suggest what steps I can take? My setup includes a B550 Tomahawk motherboard and a 5070 Ti GPU, and I've disabled Secure Boot. Thanks in advance!

Sounds like a frustrating situation! Here are a few things you can try to troubleshoot this:
1. Make sure the ISO you downloaded isn't corrupted; check the checksum and re-download if needed.
2. Re-flash the ISO to the USB drive using a different tool or try using a different USB drive altogether.
3. Change the USB port you’re using; sometimes different ports can help.
4. Consider doing a full power cycle on your PC by unplugging it and holding down the power button for about 30 seconds. This clears out all power and sometimes helps.
5. If all else fails, you might want to try using a more bleeding-edge distribution like Arch or one based on it—these often have newer kernel versions that could better support your hardware! Good luck!

Thanks for the tips! I was actually using the same USB drive that had Ubuntu on it. I formatted it with Rufus, but maybe I should try a different drive for installing Pop!_OS?
