My Monitor is Crackling! What Could Be Wrong?

I've got this old Iiyama 24-inch monitor that's about 12 years old, and recently it's started making a strange crackling sound, almost like there's arcing. Since I work in tech, I wanted to figure out what might be going on with it. The monitor uses CCFL backlights, so I'm wondering if the bulb is finally giving out. The noise seems to be coming from the top back of the monitor, not from the speakers. Has anyone else faced this issue?

If it’s a CCFL monitor, that crackling can often indicate a failing bulb. Since it’s quite old, it might be time to think about replacing it. You can find some decent options at low prices on eBay or check out local charity shops. You might be able to get a newer monitor for under £30!

Yeah, I was considering a replacement anyway. Maybe I'll look for a 27-inch monitor instead. This one’s working fine for now, but it’s pushing me to finally upgrade!
