Why Can’t I Duplicate My Display Anymore?

Hey everyone! I've been using a 4K X capture card to duplicate my gaming display to my recording PC for a while now, but something's gone wrong. Recently, my displays stopped duplicating and are just extending instead. Every time I try to switch to duplicate mode, it reverts back to extended. I've done a bunch of troubleshooting like updating the Elgato firmware, checking resolutions and refresh rates, and even rolling back drivers. Has anyone else faced this issue and found a solution? Would really appreciate any help! Thanks!

You're not alone! I suspect it could be linked to the recent Windows update I had too. It's just frustrating because it seems like it should work but won't hold the setting!

I've tried everything and I'm still stuck. Someone mentioned on another forum they're having the same issue, so maybe it's a wider problem?

I'm in the same boat with my 2K monitor and 4K TV. It used to just work but now it won't duplicate. I can toggle the setting, but it keeps reverting back to extended. Windows is definitely being weird about it. I wonder if it's something to do with a recent update?

I totally feel you; I've been dealing with this issue too since last night. I haven't found a fix yet but I'm going to keep investigating and will let you know if I find anything!

Thanks, man! I'm at my wits' end here.

One thing to check might be the refresh rate. Sometimes it can change without you realizing it and throw off the duplication.
