Hey everyone! I'm looking to build a new PC using an AM5 setup, specifically with the Lian Li A3 case. Most of my usage will be regular web surfing, watching movies, and using Photoshop for personal photo editing work (I don't need the latest version or gaming capabilities).
I'm considering the AMD Ryzen 5 7500F processor, but I understand it doesn't come with a GPU. Since gaming isn't in my plans, should I opt for a processor with an integrated GPU instead? If so, what would be a good alternative to the 7500F? For my build, I'm thinking about these components:
- CPU cooler: Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE
- PSU: FSP Hydro K Pro G5 850W PCIe5
- SSD: Kingston KC3000 500GB M.2 PCIe for the system
- RAM: Kingston FURY Beast 32GB (2x16GB) 6000MHz CL30 (EXPO)
- GPU: Sapphire RX6600 Pulse 8GB (second hand)
- Motherboard: Biostar B650MT
Will this configuration fit inside the Lian Li A3 case?

I actually have a Ryzen 5 7500F paired with an RX 6600, and honestly, it feels like overkill for basic tasks. I'd suggest the Ryzen 5 8600G instead, with 32GB RAM and a 256-512GB SSD. That’d be more than capable of handling 4K video smoothly. And yes, that motherboard will fit in the Lian Li A3 case!
For your needs, a mini PC might actually be enough! But if you want to stick with your build, the Ryzen 5 7500F is solid for photo editing, though it doesn't have an integrated GPU, which means you do need a separate one. You could look into a processor with an integrated GPU instead, maybe something from Intel or AMD's 7600 series. Also, check out PCPartPicker for compatibility checks—it can be really helpful!
Yeah, a mini PC sounds like a cheaper and more efficient option for casual use. If you stick with your original config though, just make sure everything fits that case!
You're right about the 7500F needing a separate GPU since it lacks an iGPU. If your tasks are light and you’re not gaming, consider going for a CPU with integrated graphics. Intel's chips might be a better fit for your needs and might be cheaper too! Let me know if you want specific Intel recommendations!
Thanks! I'll definitely look into Intel alternatives.
Thanks for the suggestion! I just want to ensure it all fits together nicely. Appreciate the help!
