I'm dealing with some email services on a self-hosted system, and I'm finding the spam filtering capabilities to be quite lacking. I'm curious if anyone has experience or insights on modern or AI-driven spam filters in relation to handling emails in languages other than English. Do they perform well, or is it more challenging to filter out spam in non-English languages?

Are you sure the spam issue is language-related? I'm constantly flooded with English and German spam that sneaks through the filters because they appear to have a good reputation.
I stopped trying to manage spam filtering myself and switched to a third-party service. It does a great job, and believe me, as a Dutch company, I definitely get my fair share of non-English spam.
What spam filtering system are you currently using? Even the newer and more advanced services usually require some manual tweaks to get the best results.
I can’t say for certain. I’ve noticed that most modern solutions seem to rely on AI tools, and I think they need to really understand the local language to filter effectively.
