Is Switching to Linux Worth It for a Non-Coder?

I'm thinking about making the switch to Linux after struggling with OneDrive while working on a mod for tmod. I've spent hours trying to uninstall it, and honestly, I'm just tired of Microsoft. However, I'm a bit worried since I don't have much coding knowledge. Should I go ahead and switch to Linux? What do I need to know first before I get started on this transition?

Consider dual-booting with a separate SSD or hard drive. Installing Linux over Windows isn't the best move if you're still figuring things out. You could start with it on a virtual machine or a USB stick. Getting familiar with Linux can be a learning curve, but it's similar to problem-solving in Windows—just fewer guides available sometimes. Dual booting gives you a safety net if you run into issues!

Totally agree! Dual-booting was super helpful for me too. It lets you play around with Linux while still having the comfort of Windows. Just keep searching for fixes if you hit any snags; that's part of the learning process!

Yeah, a virtual machine is a good way to dip your toes in! And learning how to troubleshoot is key. It’s not always straightforward, but it gets easier with practice!

You should definitely try out Linux first without committing to a full install! You can use a Live-USB version which lets you run it straight from a USB stick without touching your current system. Just read up on how to make a LiveUSB and give it a shot! It's risk-free and can help you see if you like it before making any big changes. Plus, there are lots of Linux distributions out there you can test out.
