I'm having some serious issues with my Dell Inspiron 14 laptop after updating to Windows 11. My laptop has an Intel i7 processor, and after I clicked the update and shut down button, things went downhill. Here's a rundown of the problems:
1. The Start menu won't open no matter how I try (neither the start button nor the Windows key works).
2. When I use my touchpad gesture to view active tabs (3 fingers), the cursor freezes, the screen goes dark for a bit, and then it refreshes.
3. The Settings app crashes every time I attempt to open it.
4. Anytime I try to do something that requires admin access, I only get a partial pop-up, and then an error saying the file can't be found.
I've even booted into safe mode, but the issues persist. I'm really stuck and could use any advice on how to fix this!

You might want to try repairing Windows. There's a guide on the Microsoft site that could help get your system back on track. It might be worth investigating!
When I run into issues like this, I usually opt for a system restore. It’s good that you caught these problems early, but hopefully you had restore points set up.
I did try to restore right away, but unfortunately, that didn’t fix the problems.
Honestly, the quickest way to resolve these types of issues is often to just wipe the system and reinstall Windows from scratch—assuming you’ve got a solid backup in place!

I'd give it a shot, but I can't even get the Settings app to open!
