Hey everyone! I'm upgrading my PC gradually, aiming for a solid 4K gaming setup by the end of next year. This year, I'm looking to upgrade my CPU and motherboard to a 9950X3D and an Asus Hero, plus grab a 4K monitor (LG 45 5K). I'm holding off on the GPU until next year, but I'm torn between getting a 5070 Ti now or waiting to see if the 5070 Ti Super or possibly the 5080 Super comes out. My concern is about the availability and pricing of these GPUs, especially since I think GPUs might be hard to come by or overpriced next year. I'd love to hear your thoughts and suggestions! Thanks!

If you're looking at the Supers, just remember that they'll mostly offer VRAM upgrades. The 5080 Super might end up being priced over $1000 in practice, so be prepared for that! But if you're mainly gaming, you might not need to splurge on the top-end CPU/mobo right now. A decent $200 B850 board will do just fine, plus you could unlock more budget for the GPU.
It really depends on what you're using the GPU for. If it's mostly for gaming, the current leaks suggest that the Super variants won't deliver much more performance for most games, except for maybe the 5070S, which could see a slight bump. But hey, that extra VRAM is always tempting!
I was in a similar position and just grabbed a budget 5070 to hold me over. It runs all my games at 1440p smoothly, plus it seems to retain its value on the used market really well. You might want to check on prices, but if you can find a good deal now, it could be a solid move until the new series drops.
Yeah, I've heard the 5070 and Ryzen 9800X3D combo is pretty great! You definitely picked a good stopgap option.
Waiting for the Supers could be worthwhile. The new chips from Samsung might allow for nice overclocking capabilities, as we've seen with the 30 series. Plus, that OLED monitor you're eyeing will be an incredible addition to your setup! After all, getting the right monitor is crucial too.

Totally! The Super models usually come out at the same price point, so they might be worth considering for future-proofing.
