Thoughts on My New PC Build Plans?

I'm in the process of planning a new PC build and would love some feedback! Currently, I have a Ryzen 7 5800X with an Asus RTX 3070 TUF OC, MSI MPG B550 Gaming Plus motherboard, 16GB of G.Skill Ripjaws V 3200 DDR4 RAM, a 500GB Samsung 980 SSD, a PowerSpec 750w Bronze PSU, and a 4TB Barracuda HDD.

For my new setup, I'm considering some different components: a Ryzen 7 7700X CPU, a Gigabyte B650 Gaming X AX V2 AMD AM5 ATX motherboard, G.Skill Flare X5 DDR5-6000 RAM (2x16GB), an Asus RTX 5060 GPU, a 2TB Samsung 990 Evo Plus SSD, a Montech XR Mid-Tower case, a Thermalright Peerless Assassin cooler, and a Lian Li Edge Gold 850w PSU. My budget is around $1100 USD, and I plan to source all parts from Micro Center. Most of my gaming will be focused on Borderlands 4, which will be coming out soon. Do you think these specs are good or should I rethink some of my choices?

I recently saw a video mentioning that there's a $100 discount on AMD GPUs if you buy an AMD CPU. Might be worth checking out when you're making your purchase!

Honestly, if Borderlands 4 is your main reason for upgrading, you might want to hold off until it's released. This way, you can gauge the specs the game will actually need. Plus, waiting could give you a chance to save up for even better components that might perform well with the game. Just a thought!

Not solely for BL4, but I'm eager to build a new PC. I'm thinking of passing my old one on to a friend who needs it.

I recommend reallocating your budget. A lower-end CPU like the 7600X could save you money, and you can put that towards a better GPU. By 2025, I wouldn't consider anything with just 8GB of VRAM. Maybe check out the Radeon RX 9060 XT with 16GB; it might end up being a better investment and not too much over your budget.

I'd say the RTX 5060 is a bit of a step back since you currently have the 3070. You might want to stick with your existing setup for now, especially if you're just starting out with BL4. It's usually better to save a bit more for a better upgrade later rather than buy parts that don't significantly exceed your current performance.
