I've dabbled with Linux over the years and am ready to dive back in. Here's what I'm looking for: I want to dual boot with Windows 11 on separate drives, and I have a desktop powered by Intel and Nvidia (can't switch to AMD right now). I'm also set on using KDE as my desktop environment – it's non-negotiable for me! I've heard mixed things about snapd, so I'd prefer to avoid that, but I'm okay with flatpaks and systemd (even if I don't get why some people dislike systemd). Stability is key for me; I want a reliable system that doesn't require constant manual fixes after installing updates. I'm also interested in built-in or easily added recovery tools like snapshots and Timeshift. I'm torn on whether to use X11 or Wayland since I'm planning to hook up multiple monitors, one of which I'd like to have HDR support (though I'm flexible on that). I plan to try out Kdenlive and DaVinci Resolve for video editing on Linux too. I feel like my list of requirements is a bit daunting, especially since I'm not confident about troubleshooting Linux issues and am hesitant to jump into an Arch install. Should I tone down my expectations? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Debian could be a good fit for you as it’s stable and user-friendly while still giving you the power you’re looking for with KDE. I’m glad to hear it’s on your radar!
Honestly, this is kinda what I already had in mind, but I wanted someone else to say it.
