Hey folks! I'm running a small business and am in need of a simple, budget-friendly remote access solution that primarily allows unattended access. Both my teammate and I occasionally need to connect to our office computers at the same time. Here's a bit about our current setup: I, as the admin, require access to 5 devices (a mix of Mac and PC) located both at the office and at home. My teammate needs access to 3 devices, which include two office desktops and a travel Mac. We've been using TeamViewer, but it feels like it's too robust and costly for our basic requirements. Does anyone have suggestions for a more economical alternative that would work well for us? Thanks in advance!

For just the two of you, consider combining TailScale with RDP. It has no recurring costs and provides excellent security and performance, especially if you're mainly using Windows PCs. I'm unsure about Mac alternatives for RDP, though.
If you're looking for something completely free, check out Action1. It provides remote access along with patch management and is free for up to 200 computers. It's user-friendly and works great!
You might want to look into Apache Guacamole. It supports RDP, VNC, and SSH, but you'll need to set up an instance somewhere accessible. I’ve heard good things about OpsBay, which offers a free test instance for Guacamole.
Splashtop could be a good option for you! It's generally more affordable than TeamViewer, though you'll run into some limitations with the mix of PCs and Macs. Still, it gets the job done for basic needs.
