Hey everyone, I recently got a new HP Victus r1088nt and set it up with Windows 11 before switching to Windows 10. My Wi-Fi and Ethernet cable seem to work fine, but I'm stuck with a wired connection issue. I'm currently studying at Middle East Technical University and living in the dorms where they've provided a guide to help with connecting to the wired network. I made sure to register my MAC address and follow all setup steps in the guide, but I'm still not getting any internet access. I even tried connecting to a different port in a friend's room, and that worked for his computer, so the issue seems to be with mine. I've checked for any hardware or software problems, but nothing seems off. I've shared some screenshots that might help (they're in Turkish, but can be translated). Should I reach out to HP support or is there something else I can change or check? I'm really hoping to figure this out soon!

There’s a chance it might take a bit of time for your MAC address to be fully registered on the network. Check if the guide mentions if this process is instant. If you could register your MAC, then your Network Interface Card (NIC) is likely working fine. But double-check those settings you changed just to be safe!
It sounds frustrating! Sometimes power spikes can mess up Ethernet ports. Have you checked if there was any lightning or a surge? A lot of people have had similar issues, and a quick fix is to grab a USB to Ethernet adapter—they're pretty affordable and can bypass the built-in port. If you're sure you've followed the guide, that might be your best bet!
I didn’t notice any storms or spikes, but I’ll definitely consider the USB adapter if it turns out the port is faulty.

I waited about an hour after registering and still no luck. What exactly is a NIC?
