I'm new to Linux and just bought a Dell computer specifically for it. However, during the setup process, I hit a snag at the sign-in page that required my Microsoft account, which I want to avoid linking. My goal is to fully install Linux without going through the Windows setup. Is there a way to boot from my USB drive with Linux on it and uninstall Windows, or have I messed it up by starting the setup? I downloaded my desired Linux distro on a thumb drive using my MacBook, but I'm not sure how to proceed.

Yes, you can definitely install Linux without having to finish Windows setup! Just boot from your USB drive instead of going through the Windows process. When you power on your Dell, hit F12 (or F2) to access the BIOS and choose your USB drive from the boot menu. From there, you'll be able to install Linux and erase Windows totally. Don't worry, it's not too late! You've got this!
You can absolutely install Linux from your USB without completing the Windows setup. Boot your machine, access the UEFI/BIOS (usually by pressing F2), and set your USB as the first boot device. This way you can install Linux and wipe out Windows completely. If you run into trouble, remember that online installation videos can be super helpful!
Thanks for the suggestion! I'll definitely check out some videos. I’m just a bit overwhelmed with all the terms.
