I'm considering getting a Lenovo ThinkCentre M720Q Tiny Desktop for around $200 to set up as a home server. I'm not a gaming enthusiast but enjoy housing texts, audiobooks, music, and photos, plus I'd like to run a Pi-hole. While I've dabbled with Linux on a few older devices, I'm certainly not a power user. Given my experience, I'm curious if this is a manageable project for someone like me who's eager to learn but a bit of a newbie in server setups. Do you think I'd be able to handle it, or might it turn into a headache?

Absolutely, go for it! Setting up a home server can be a fun learning experience. Since you're already familiar with using Linux, that's a big plus. Just start with the basics and don’t worry too much about it being perfect. If something crashes, consider it part of the learning process!
You’re definitely in the right ballpark! With your Linux background, you'll have a smoother time transitioning. A great starting point could be using a virtual machine to test things out before dedicating the hardware. Also, consider learning Docker—it'll make managing applications a lot easier!
Thanks a lot! That sounds like a solid plan. I'll definitely give Docker a shot.
