Hey everyone! I'm looking for recommendations on a good computer for working from home. My current setup is an ACER all-in-one that I bought at the start of the pandemic, but after five years, it's really starting to slow down. It takes forever to boot up, and occasionally it doesn't even display the login screen when I press the power button—it's like it's stuck in limbo.
I'm hoping to find something that starts quickly and will last me for at least six years. Any suggestions?

Lenovo Thinkpads are a solid choice for work from home. They're reliable and have great performance. I've had several and currently use a Dell which is also good. Just make sure to check what software you’ll be using—some might have specific minimum requirements. Generally, a Core i5 or Ryzen 5 with 16GB of RAM should cover most needs. Don't forget about storage size—consider an external SSD if you're handling lots of files! Also, grab one with a USB-C port; it's becoming the standard for devices and charging.
Try downloading hdtune.exe from hdtune.com to check your hard drive's performance. If you see dropouts or speeds below 100 MB/s, definitely consider getting an SSD—it usually makes a huge difference!
You might want to consider swapping out the hard drive in your current ACER for a solid-state drive (SSD). If it's compatible, go for an NVMe SSD; otherwise, a SATA SSD would work too. What's the model of your ACER?
It's the Aspire C24.
