Are there any good 27-inch IPS 1440p monitors available in 2025?

I'm looking to upgrade my setup from a 24-inch 1080p monitor to a 27-inch 1440p display, but all I see in reviews are OLEDs. Is there a solid option for an IPS 27-inch 1440p monitor this year, or should I consider going with a VA panel or even an OLED instead? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I recently bought the AOC Q27G4XF, and so far, it's excellent for the price! I haven't faced any issues with it. Just a heads up, the HDR isn't the greatest if that matters to you, but I don’t use HDR much myself.

There are definitely some good IPS monitors out there! While OLEDs are fantastic and prices are dropping, it doesn't mean IPS is out of the running. If your budget is around $200, you're fine with IPS. But once you go higher, look for those cheaper OLEDs that really give you more bang for your buck, especially if you can get a 1440p 240Hz for about $350.

Honestly, if you can swing it money-wise, you should think about getting an OLED. They offer the best response times, incredible contrast, and the colors are spot-on. Just be mindful of burn-in, although the newer models have pretty solid protection against it.

I wouldn't say they're burn-in proof. If you're showing static images for long periods, burn-in can definitely still happen. But if you mostly game and do other tasks occasionally, the risk is much lower than it used to be. For heavy static use, maybe think about mini LED instead.

Exactly! Without local dimming backlights like miniLED, IPS just can't compete with OLED on picture quality. MiniLED models are few, but they might be better than edge-lit IPS. Plus, OLEDs really cater to gamers looking for top-notch performance.
