I recently set up a new PC for a client using their organization's Microsoft 365 account, which is managed through GoDaddy. Initially, I was able to log the user in without any issues, but after rebooting the PC, they couldn't sign in with their Microsoft credentials, even though I confirmed that the login details were correct. The user also needed to set up Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), but they didn't configure it during the first login.
I tried several solutions, including adding a local account using Command Prompt in recovery mode, but the local account didn't show up after another reboot. I also attempted to disable MFA for the user in Entra, but that didn't work either. Eventually, I ended up resetting the PC and doing a clean reinstall, which allowed me to create a local account and sign in successfully. However, I'm interested in figuring out what caused the initial login issue. Any insights would be greatly appreciated!

Make sure to check the Domain Health in the M365 admin center. DNS issues could cause problems with sign-ins, especially if MFA had been set up after the initial login.
Have you thought about checking the user's account logs in Entra? If the error is tied to the login process there, you might see some clues in the logs. If you find no login attempts, then it could be an issue on the device itself. Also, checking the Event Viewer for any relevant logs could be helpful!
I’ve run into a similar issue before, and in my case, the user just forgot their password. Sometimes it’s the simplest explanations that get overlooked!
What kind of license does the user have? The sign-in logs for individual users in the admin console should provide some insights into what’s going wrong with their login attempts.
