Should I Upgrade My GPU or CPU for Gaming Performance?

I have a Ryzen 3950X paired with a 2080 Ti, and I'm starting to notice that my PC struggles with some of the newer games, especially those using Unreal Engine 5. Most of my gaming is at 1080p, and I really prefer maintaining higher frame rates—ideally around 100 FPS, but never dropping below 60. Is it worth it to just upgrade my GPU for better performance, or would my CPU bottleneck the new graphics card?

You should definitely check your GPU utilization while gaming. If it's running close to 100%, then upgrading the GPU could give you a noticeable boost. However, if it's sitting low, like around 0-1% while you're getting low frames, that's a sign your CPU might be bottlenecking performance too. It's all about balancing those components!

I ran into similar issues with "Lords of the Fallen." Max graphics set me under 50 FPS, and the task manager showed barely any GPU usage, with my CPU hanging around 30%. It's definitely weird how the Desktop Window Manager can take up GPU resources when you're tabbed out.
