Getting Back into Full-Stack Development: Need Some Guidance!

Hey everyone! A while back, I completed a Full-Stack coding bootcamp (Thinkful, now Chegg), but it was a rough journey. My mentor ended up wasting two months of my time, and I was frustrated that they didn't honor their money-back guarantee. I managed to get through my capstone project but missed out on the interview prep and some crucial support at the end. Now, I'm eager to get back into the tech world, especially since I'm nearing 40 and my retirement savings could use a boost.

I did some digging and found that the skills I learned really aren't outdated, which is encouraging. I've created a roadmap to refresh my knowledge and would love some feedback on it. Is it comprehensive enough? Also, I want to incorporate AI technologies into future projects and maybe dive into mobile development as well. You can check out my roadmap [here](https://cyber-anaconda-bd0.notion.site/Full-Stack-Refresh-Roadmap-22ed4be993238031884cd18653c84d25). Any thoughts? Should I focus more on Full Stack Open instead of my initial plan?

Your roadmap looks pretty solid overall! Just a heads-up though, if you're serious about starting a career in software engineering, it might be worth considering getting a CS degree too. It could really help you in the long run.

Thanks for your feedback! Do you really think a CS degree is necessary nowadays?

I see what you're aiming for, but honestly, if you want to have a successful career in software engineering, I recommend focusing on one area instead of trying to do it all at once. Your roadmap seems a bit scattered. For example, you're learning React in week 4 but not using it until week 7, and then you won't touch it for weeks after. You might forget what you've learned. Find something you love—front-end, back-end, or whatever—and dive deep into it. Skip the complex stuff for now and build lots of projects with your chosen focus. Good luck!

Thanks for the insight! So, you really think I should forget about trying to cover everything at once?
