How Did My Microsoft and Steam Accounts Get Hacked?

Hey folks,

I think I've been hacked. My Steam and Microsoft accounts both seem compromised, as I've noticed changes like new passwords and altered email addresses. I figured something was off with Steam when I couldn't log in anymore; the email associated with it has been changed. I've already submitted a ticket and am waiting for a response, but I didn't receive any email alerts or 2FA requests.

For Microsoft, I found some confirmation emails in my spam folder that had a one-time verification code and notifications about changes to the recovery email. It's confusing because I don't understand how they ended up in my spam.

I suspect they might have accessed my Gmail too, yet when I checked, there were no suspicious logins or activity in the last month, apart from my own devices. I've changed my Gmail password and logged out from those devices.

Is it possible they gained access to my Gmail without leaving a trace, or could I have a virus on my computer? I'm considering wiping my system and reinstalling Windows, but I'd prefer to avoid that if it's not necessary.

Also, I use a password manager (Bitwarden) and I'm hesitant to type in my master password to change my saved passwords due to potential keyloggers. What do you all think?

It sounds like your email and passwords might have been exposed in a data leak. That's a common reason for account hacks. Unfortunately, it’s often tough to determine the exact method of compromise, but securing your accounts is definitely the way to go! You might want to enable 2FA on your accounts once you're secure again if you haven’t already. Just keep an eye on your emails and spam folder for unusual activity too!

But if they accessed my Gmail, wouldn’t I notice it in connected devices or something?
