I've been working on some website templates as a side project and I'm curious about where I can sell them. Is it still possible to make extra income this way? For instance, is Envato still a good platform for selling templates?

It's getting tough with Envato and AI tools out there. You could consider WordPress too; it’s another option worth exploring!
When I need a template, I usually go to Envato. They have a huge selection of high-quality and reasonably priced templates, which is hard to find elsewhere. The tricky part is finding the right template among the tons available.
There are so many templates out there that I wonder if I'd even get any sales if I submitted my own. Still, I guess it can't hurt to try since I'm always buying my templates from there too!
Check out platforms like Shopify, Framer, and Webflow. They offer options, but it might be tricky to sell directly on those if you're not already part of their seller network.
I can't share my templates with them or work as a seller, right?
Honestly, it’s a tough market. People can be very particular about what they want. Why would they pay you for your template when they can get something vetted and kept up-to-date from Envato or ThemeForest? Developers are often seen as having messy designs and code. What makes your template unique enough for someone to buy? It’s a crowded space with lots of modern templates out there; breaking into it as a solo developer isn't easy.
Great point! I appreciate the insight.
Totally agree with that, thanks for the suggestion!
