I recently sent a message from my iPhone 16 Pro (using iOS 18.5) to my sister-in-law, who has an Android. I noticed that while it appears on my messaging thread with her, my husband mentioned that the message actually went to a group chat with 14 people in it, including my sister-in-law. I can't see it in that group chat at all, and I'm really worried about texting anyone else because I'm afraid of who might see my messages. Can anyone explain how this happened? I hope I made sense!

It sounds like a frustrating issue! If your sister-in-law has never had an iPhone, then it might just be a problem with your phone’s software or settings. Consider checking your MMS settings, as sometimes they can affect how messages are delivered and shown. It's also a good idea to ensure that your software is up to date. Better safe than sorry with texting!
This situation can happen if there’s a mix-up with your messaging settings or if there’s a glitch. Sometimes, if someone in a group chat has previously used an iPhone, weird cross-platform issues can arise. It's worth checking if there are any group settings in your messaging app that might be affecting this. Maybe even try restarting your phone to reset the messaging app.
Watch out with group texts; they can get confusing! Let us know if it happens again.
