I'm trying to figure out if my EVGA 700W PSU is enough for my new build that includes a Gigabyte B850 GAMING X WIFI6E motherboard. I read that this motherboard has an additional ATX 4-pin power connector, which my PSU lacks. The information I found suggests it might run fine without it, but I'm concerned about stability and performance, especially under higher loads. What do you all think? Is the PSU sufficient, or should I look into upgrading it?

A single 8-pin provides up to 384W and your Ryzen's max power draw is just 88W. You’ll likely have plenty of available wattage even with the extra 4-pin disconnected. If you think about the future, though, maybe consider a better PSU next time!
The additional 4-pin connector is really just for those doing extreme overclocking. Most users won't need it with standard settings and mild overclocks, so your PSU should be fine!
You’ve got a solid motherboard, and yes, the PSU will power it. Just keep in mind—if you ever upgrade to a more powerful CPU or GPU, you might want to consider a higher wattage PSU for future-proofing!
A single 8-pin CPU connector can provide up to 300W, and your Ryzen 5 9600X won't use that much power. The extra connector on the motherboard is mainly for heavy overclocking. For usual performance, your 700W PSU is more than enough for this setup!
Exactly! You're all good unless you plan for extreme overclocking.
Thanks for clarifying! I just didn't want to end up needing to buy a new PSU down the line.
