Why Is My WiFi Speed So Much Slower Than My Friend’s?

Hey everyone! I'm having a bit of a frustrating issue with my internet speed and I'm hoping you can help me out. I live in the same neighborhood as my friend and we both use the Free Delta internet box. He connects to his PC using a Free router through WiFi and then Ethernet, while I use a TP-Link router. We've both been trying to download the same game at the same time, but his speeds are way better—his download is 279 Mbps with an upload of 110 Mbps, whereas I'm only getting 37 Mbps download and 14 Mbps upload. Any ideas on what could be causing this difference or how I can fix it?

Check to see if there are any settings you haven't enabled on your Free Delta box. Sometimes there are features that could improve your speed that need to be turned on manually.

You might want to switch your router to the 5GHz band and set your channel width to 40MHz. If you can, also try connecting to the 5GHz network on your gaming console for better performance. What model router do you have?

Thanks for the suggestion! I'm using the TP-Link AC1750 Mbps WiFi Repeater (RE450). I'll definitely give the 5GHz setting a shot.
