I've been visiting various free adult websites, and I've noticed they often come with a ton of pop-up ads. Sometimes, I accidentally click through to other sites. I've been reading about malware attacks, especially "drive-by downloads". Is this something I should really be worried about when visiting these sites? Can modern web browsers and Windows Defender effectively protect against potential malware threats? If there's a more suitable forum for this, I'd appreciate a redirect. Thanks!

The risk really depends on what device you’re using. For Android, try implementing Adguard public DNS and using your browser's Private Mode; that will help a lot. On Windows, doing the same thing plus using an adblocker like uBlock Origin can further protect you. Just ensure you keep Windows and your drivers updated from official sources!
Out of curiosity, if one of my devices ended up with malware, how likely would it be to infect other devices on my home network? It seems like it depends on the type of malware, but how common is this? Also, how effective are Windows Defender and iOS at preventing this kind of issue?
Make sure to clear your cookies and cache regularly. You should also avoid allowing notifications from those sites and never input any credit card information. Just good practices to keep things safe!
Thanks for the tips! Can you explain what "Adguard public DNS" does?
