Help! I Can’t Figure Out This Mystery Ad Blocker

Hi there! I've noticed that I seem to have an ad blocker on my computer, but I can't recall ever installing one. My YouTube ads are getting cut off, going to a black screen before the video plays. While I'm not too bothered by it, I actually enjoy some ads. Today, I received a notification saying "Ad blocks not allowed on YouTube" and suggesting that I remove it. Since I didn't intentionally download any ad blocker, I'm a bit lost. If anyone has any tips on how to resolve this, I'd really appreciate the help! 😀

Yeah, check your browser settings for extensions. It’s usually pretty easy to find if you look in the menu. You might discover an ad blocker that you didn’t even know you had installed!

Why on earth would you want to see ads? They can be so annoying! Just curious!

I dunno, I like seeing them! They can be amusing sometimes 😀

It sounds like you might have an extension or add-on in your browser that’s doing the ad blocking. YouTube has tightened its restrictions on users with ad blockers, like uBlock. Try disabling any extensions you find related to ad blocking.

Honestly, this feels like a troll post to me, not gonna lie.

If you don’t remember installing anything, it could be a good idea to run a malware scan first. Sometimes ad blockers can be installed alongside other software. Malwarebytes is a reliable option for that!
