I'm in shock! I received some emails from Ubisoft last night indicating that someone logged into my account, which I initially thought were phishing attempts. Then, I got notifications that my password and email were changed! Attempts to regain control failed as the account now has a new username and email. A few hours later, I noticed someone tried to access my Steam account, but I have two-factor authentication, so I felt safe there. I also secured my Gmail after the same thing happened, although I changed my password just to be extra safe. Recently, my Discord account sent my friend a weird scam link, and then I got logged out on both my PC and phone. I reset my password and added my phone number as a backup for sign-in. I guess I'm wondering why someone would target me when my accounts don't seem valuable, and more importantly, how can I prevent this from happening in the future? Thanks for any advice!

Have you downloaded any mods or software from sketchy sites? Sometimes, these can lead to malware that steals your info. You mentioned being redirected to a site while installing a mod, which can be a clue. It's essential to only download from trusted sources.
It sounds like your accounts might have been compromised due to a vulnerability in your web sessions. If you're logging in through your browser, it’s possible someone has access to your cookies and hijacked your sessions. Make sure to clear your browser history and cookies to enhance your security.
Oh no! How do I clear my cookies? Is it complicated?
Yeah, I got redirected to a sketchy site when trying to download a mod. It was labeled safe, but now I'm worried!
