Tips for Building and Hosting a Church Website

I'm about to create a website for my church, and I'm having a meeting with them to discuss their needs. I'm not really sure what questions I should be asking, or if they'll just tell me what they want. Also, I'm unclear on how to deliver the website once it's done. Should I just provide the files and wish them luck, or is it better to host the website for them? I'm still pretty new to this since I haven't hosted a website before, but I've designed some solid sites already.

Since you're new and starting from scratch, I usually suggest checking out Laravel starter kits, but you'd need some basic PHP knowledge. First, gather a list of what they want and start researching. And don’t set a strict timeline for completion! If you decide to learn Laravel, there's a great community and plenty of resources to help you out if you have questions!

Are you planning to use something like WordPress, or will you go the custom route?

I’m not using a CMS — I'm building it from scratch with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

Definitely have a workflow plan before you start taking on clients! It would be best to host the website for them and consider charging a monthly fee for that service.
