Hey everyone, I just signed up for AWS on July 29 and received $100 in promotional credits plus an extra $20 for setting up EC2. I'm still setting things up like AWS Organizations and such, but when I logged in today, I found that both credits had disappeared and were marked as expired. I was really surprised since it's only been a few days since I created my account. I've contacted AWS Support about this, but I'm curious if anyone else has faced a similar issue. Should I have done something to activate the credits when I received them? I could really use those credits for my projects! Thanks for any help!

I haven’t tried this myself, but I’ve heard many people suggest creating a new account for free credits or testing, using multiple emails. Might be worth a shot if you're looking to avoid issues!
Sorry to hear about your credits! Joining AWS Organizations indeed automatically upgrades your account to a paid plan. Check back with your support case for more guidance from the Billing team who will reach out to you soon!
It looks like this might be due to when you created the AWS Organizations. According to the Free Tier FAQ, once your account joins an AWS Organization, your Free Tier credits expire immediately and you'll be switched to a paid plan. It's a bummer that this isn't more clearly communicated during setup! Maybe look into other credit options that AWS might offer?
If this account is for business, consider checking out AWS Activate for additional credits.
Yeah, that's pretty rough. I didn’t know that either. AWS should really make that info clearer, especially during account setup!
