How Can I Remove Parental Controls from My iPhone Before College?

Hey everyone! I'm about to start college next week at 18, but I've been dealing with some super strict parental controls on my iPhone set by my mom. She set my Apple ID age to 6, which has limited my options to remove those restrictions. I've spent hours trying to bypass them with some third-party tools my friend suggested, but they haven't worked. I thought about going to an Apple store with my ID to see if they would help me out. Anyone have advice on how to handle this? I'd really appreciate any tips because I'm feeling trapped. Thanks and stay awesome!

You're officially an adult now; have a mature chat with your mom. If she's not willing to lift the restrictions, consider getting your own phone and even switching carriers if you can afford it. It's about setting your own boundaries!

Honestly, if the phone is under your mom's name, that could complicate things with the carrier. If you're really looking to break free from those restrictions, getting your own phone could be the way to go!

Why not just buy your own phone? If you're eager to experience independence, it's a good move to pay your own bills as well!

Great suggestion! I hadn’t thought about it until now!

Good point! Just getting a new account could solve a lot of problems with the Apple ID too.

First off, definitely go to an Apple store with your photo ID! They might help you out with removing the restrictions since you're over 18 now. If your mom is really strict about this, you could also talk to a school counselor if things get tough later on. Also, just a heads up—using a VPN can help when you're on your parent's Wi-Fi, just in case.
