I recently switched out my mismatched Samsung and LG monitors for a matching pair of ASUS 24" models. Since the swap, my PC has been experiencing random black screens, where the display goes dark but the sound continues. The only way to regain control is by holding down the power button. No other changes were made—just the monitors. I've updated GPU drivers, checked all connections, and reseated the GPU, plus the temperatures seem fine. What could be causing this issue after such a simple change? How can I fix it? Thanks in advance!

Same goes for me, I had a black screen issue when I switched to monitors with a higher refresh rate! It turned out my display cables weren't compatible with the new specs. You might want to try different cables or even lower the refresh rate temporarily to see if that resolves the problem.
It might help to troubleshoot with just one monitor first. Sometimes connecting both new monitors together can push the GPU harder, leading to issues. Monitor settings can also influence performance, so check if they’re set to something that your GPU can comfortably handle.
Check if your new monitors have a higher resolution or refresh rate than the old ones. If so, your cables might not support their specs or your GPU could be getting overstressed. This doesn't sound like a total freeze, so instead of holding the power button, try just pressing it once to put your PC to sleep and then wake it back up again. You could also test with just one monitor to see if the issue persists. Lowering the refresh rate could also help. By the way, when the screens go black, are they entering power-saving mode?
