Is it risky to use unsupported RAM with my motherboard?

Hey everyone! I recently bought a pretty pricey stick of RAM, but I just found out it's not listed as compatible with my motherboard, the Asus x870e Crosshair Hero, according to their website. It does boot without any issues, but I can't enable DOCP without being forced into safe mode, which is frustrating. I've spent a lot of money on my setup, and I'm not in a position to replace the RAM right now. If I keep it running at a lower frequency where it still boots, am I risking any damage to my components? Any advice would be appreciated!

You don't need to stress about damaging anything by using unsupported RAM. Motherboard QVLs mainly show kits they've tested, but just because it's not on the list doesn’t mean it won’t work. You're probably just losing out on some performance. As long as it boots, you're in good shape!
