Am I being scammed over website updates?

I've recently started collaborating with my friend, who owns a nail salon, as we both work as nail techs. She invested $500 in a website, but it's riddled with issues. She asked me to help out at her shop, but when clients try to book services online, only her information shows up, and there's no option for them to book me. She claims it will cost an additional $500 to add my name and bio, but that feels excessive to me. She doesn't want to spend any more money and expects me to promote the site in the meantime. I'm left wondering if she's trying to pull a fast one on me. Is that really a standard price for such a minor adjustment? Plus, what happens when she needs to make other changes in the future? Will it always be $500 every time? Any thoughts?

If it's a custom booking site, that fee could be justified. The developer might be realizing that their initial price was way too low for the complexity of building a functioning booking system. But in my experience, $500 for a simple adjustment sounds high unless there’s a lot of technical debt involved.
