I'm trying to decide between Longhorn and Rook for my production environment. I've heard that Rook is more reliable and has been battle-tested, but it does come with higher latency and uses more CPU and RAM. Longhorn had some issues in its earlier versions, and I'm not sure how the latest ones compare, but it's said to be faster. Is there a better solution available that is both production-ready and offers high performance while being cloud-native and Kubernetes-native? I really appreciate any insights!

If you're looking for the most production-ready solution, I'd suggest going with your cloud provider's CSI plugin. Just kidding! Seriously though, I wouldn't run either Longhorn or Rook unless you're on bare metal. Ceph is solid but requires some serious hardware to get the best out of it.
