I'm looking to upgrade from my 3060 12GB, and the 7800 XT seems like the best option for my budget, especially since I'm also upgrading my display. However, I found some reviews suggesting that the performance difference from the 6800 XT isn't significant, and the 6800 XT is cheaper in my area. Can anyone tell me if there are solid reasons to choose the 7800 XT over the 6800 XT?

If you can grab a 9070 or 5060 Ti at a decent price, those options with DLSS/FSR 4 really blow the competition away for performance.
The 7800 XT uses less power, performs better with ray tracing (even if it's still not top-tier), and generally runs cooler. Plus, it should receive more driver support and features over time compared to the older 6800 XT. I recently got a 7800 XT and I'm really satisfied with it!
It's a bummer the 7000 series isn't getting FSR 4 yet! That’s the main thing holding me back from jumping on a 7800 XT right now, but I’ve heard they’re working on a future update for it.
Honestly, the 6800 XT is a more cost-effective option—it's cheaper and still holds up well. Plus, it's newer by about three years, which could mean longer support for updates, but I still think the 6800 XT is a fantastic choice if you're looking to save some cash.
I don't see any compelling reasons to go for the 7800 XT right now. The 6800 XT is a solid card for much less money. I just did a similar upgrade, and you won't regret going with it!
I've looked around, and all I can find are listings for $700 and higher, which is way more than I can swing right now. I thought about it too, but nothing under MSRP accessible for me.
