What’s the Best Way to Back Up Configs and Files for Distro Hopping?

I'm looking for a one-click solution to back up important files and configurations like my fish and kitty settings, GNOME and KDE themes, crucial folders in my home directory, and browser data. Distro hopping can be a hassle, and keeping track of everything to back up is a pain. Does anyone know any dedicated tools or methods that simplify this process?

Have you considered using rsync? It's a powerful tool that can sync your home directory, including all your dotfiles. It might take a little time to set up, but once you do, it’s really straightforward to use for backups.

There’s also Savedesktop from Flatpak, which can help with some of your needs. You could give that a try, too.

You might want to check out 'stow' or 'chezmoi'. They are commonly used for managing dotfiles. ChezMoi might be more suited to what you're looking for, although it can be a bit complex to set up. It's flexible, and I’ve found it helpful for backing up configurations easily!
