Looking for In-Home Security Camera Recommendations

I'm facing a serious health condition that means I have to stay home alone for extended periods, with my remote job on hold. Because of this, I'm considering getting a security camera to help ensure I'm okay when I'm sleeping or waking up. I need a camera that meets several specific criteria: it should be viewable on an app without requiring a subscription, have good enough HD quality to see if my eyes are open from a few feet away, offer two-way audio, and be secure enough to ease my privacy concerns. Budget is a factor, so I'd prefer something that won't break the bank, and it would be great if there's a way to set a timer to turn it off at certain times. I'm open to options designed for babies, pets, or anything similar. Any recommendations? Thanks!

Security is a big deal since cameras can be hacked. I suggest looking at the Wyze Pan and Tilt camera, which is about $40 plus around $10 for a memory card. Just make sure to point it outwards unless someone’s checking in, as it makes a noise when it turns.

I'll check with them about a moving camera, thanks for the tip!

You might want to check out the Merkury indoor smart camera, only about $20 at Walmart. I use a few to keep an eye on my pets, and the image quality is surprisingly good. You’ll definitely be able to see if your eyes are open from across the room. It connects to Wi-Fi and is app-viewable. Security-wise, the app requires a password, but like pretty much all Wi-Fi cameras, there's always some risk of hacking.

I get that, but the quality sounds promising! I'll think about this one, thanks!

I've had great experiences with Tapo cameras. They seem to fit your needs nicely! You can pair them with a Tapo smart plug to set a schedule, so if the plug’s off, you can't view the camera. The main account can control everything and share access securely, so no remote activations from shared users.
