Can My Website Help Me Land Clients After Learning to Code?

Last year, I was searching for online jobs but had no luck finding one. Someone advised me to focus on self-improvement and learn some skills, so I took their advice and started learning how to code. I focused on HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, and after a year, I feel like I've really mastered those skills. I'm still exploring other languages and CMS options as well. I'm curious—do you think my website (https://tasflex.co.ke) is convincing enough to attract clients for my services?

Honestly, it's decent enough that you could pick up a few clients, but you're in a competitive market. Many new developers are entering the field, and tools make building websites super easy—this can pose a challenge. You'll really need to network extensively and possibly market yourself in a way that highlights added value, like SEO or improving conversion rates. It's tough out there, so consider honing your skills further and maybe even specializing in a niche. Good luck! Also, I’d suggest avoiding using your image as the background on your homepage; it might come off as unprofessional.

Your website seems more like a personal portfolio, which might create some confusion about whether you're running an agency. It could work well to show local clients, giving you that extra nudge to win them over, but attracting clients online is a whole different ball game. I wouldn't bet on it doing much to lure in new clients from the wider market, though. You might need to spice it up a bit to improve its appeal.

Just a quick note: why did you use WordPress for your website if you're focusing on web development? If you're trying to convince clients, you should showcase your coding skills rather than relying on a platform like WordPress. Just a thought!

Good point! I know WordPress themes still require some coding knowledge, but I wanted a base to work from. Maybe I’ll create something from scratch next to demonstrate my skills better.
