Why isn’t 802.1X authentication enabling on Windows 11 via GPO?

I've applied a Group Policy Object (GPO) with the necessary wired EAP-TLS settings to my device. According to the Resultant Set of Policy (RSOP), all the settings are correctly received. However, when I check the Ethernet properties, 802.1X authentication is still disabled, and the Authentication tab is missing from the Ethernet properties. Is there another GPO that should be applied to enable it, or shouldn't the 802.1X settings do this automatically?

Have you checked the Wired Autoconfig service? It defaults to manual and needs to be started for 802.1X to work. I usually set it to start automatically using the GPO to avoid issues like this.

I didn't start that service yet. I'll add it to the GPO and see if it resolves the issue.

I set the startup type to automatic, but it still didn't kick in after I did a gpupdate and rebooted.
