Confused About Network Solutions’ New Domain Ownership Rules

Hey, I'm in a bit of a bind with Network Solutions. They sent me an email saying that due to new WHOIS/ICANN regulations, I need to change the "organization field" in my domain's contact info to maintain ownership. This has to be done by August 21, or they will consider the organization as the legal owner of my domain. I've checked my account and can't find any mention of an "organization" field—only the registrant, admin, and tech information. I'm worried there might be some unknown entity listed as the owner. Has anyone dealt with this or know what this "organization field" actually is?

You might want to do a quick WHOIS lookup using a site like who.is. This can help you confirm what information is currently linked to your domain. The organization field they're referring to is usually the entity name listed alongside the registrant's name. For example, if you look up Microsoft, you’ll see that their name is paired with 'Microsoft Corporation' in the organization field. Definitely check what yours says to ease your mind! Plus, just curious—what's stopping you from switching to a different registrar?

Have you tried calling their support? I mean, I know it's frustrating, but getting a live person might help clarify things. Though, I’ll admit, it’s hit or miss whether they actually pick up!

Yeah, I've tried calling before, and honestly, it's like talking to a brick wall. They just give conflicting answers!
