I downloaded an Excel file containing macros for a study from a reputable university's site (Prolific). Initially, I scanned it with both Malwarebytes and Windows Defender before opening, and neither flagged it. Later, I uploaded it to VirusTotal, which also showed it as safe. However, the 'Behaviours' tab indicated it could be malware. I'm unsure if this is a false positive or if my PC might be infected. Any insights or advice would be greatly appreciated!

It’s quite possible that what you’re seeing is a false positive. Many antivirus tools can mistakenly flag safe files, especially if they contain macros. I suggest trying a couple of other online virus scanners to see what they report. Check out sites like Sucuri or Hybrid Analysis; they offer different scanning engines and may give you a clearer idea.
Alright, do you have any specific links to those sites?
