How Can I Connect My Monitor and TV to My PC for Easy Switching?

I'm trying to set up my gaming area with both a monitor and a TV, but I want to avoid the hassle of plugging and unplugging cables. I have a 32-inch 1440p 165Hz monitor and a 50-inch 4K QLED TV. I plan to mount the TV above the monitor but primarily use the TV for gaming only. I currently have my monitor connected via DisplayPort to my GPU, and I noticed there are a couple of HDMI ports available as well. Is there a way to connect both the monitor and TV so I can switch between them easily without messing with cables?

You can definitely connect both your monitor and TV to your PC! The easiest method is to plug the monitor and the TV into different outputs on your graphics card. This way, you can access them separately, but switching might require diving into game settings to select the desired display.

For a more straightforward switch, consider using an HDMI switch. This device lets you switch between your TV and monitor at the push of a button without toggling any cables. You’d just connect your monitor with DisplayPort and then plug the TV into one of the HDMI ports on your GPU. It keeps everything neat and easy!

Thanks for clarifying the HDMI switch! So just to confirm, I'll connect my TV to an HDMI port on the GPU, while keeping the DP for the monitor. I appreciate the help!
