Which Linux Distro Should I Choose for Basic Gaming and Apps?

Hey everyone! I'm new to Linux and looking for some guidance. I have a Vaio PCG-61B11U laptop currently running Windows 10, and I want to switch to Linux. My main goals are to do some basic gaming and use applications like GIMP and DaVinci Resolve. I was considering Bazzite, but I'm unsure if it'll run well on my machine or support the software I need. Any recommendations or advice would be greatly appreciated! Sorry if my English isn't perfect.

Looking at your laptop's specs, especially the AMD E-240 processor and 2GB of RAM, I think you might want to keep your gaming expectations low. If you’re aiming for anything beyond casual games like chess or solitaire, you may have a tough time. Consider trying various distros to see which one feels right for you, with Ubuntu or Linux Mint being popular choices for beginners.

I’d recommend checking out EndeavorOS. It's a lightweight KDE Plasma distro that performs well on older hardware, like your Vaio. It typically uses only about 1GB of RAM and doesn’t stress the CPU too much, making it quite efficient for basic tasks and gaming on lower-end specs.

You could also visit the distro selection page in the Linux4Noobs wiki for help! It's packed with options and comparisons. Remember to back up your data and perhaps give the new distro a try in a virtual machine first!
