I'm trying to figure out if the SSD I'm considering is compatible with my motherboard. Here are the links: my motherboard is the ASUS Prime Z270-A, and the SSD is Kingston NVMe model SNV3S/1000G. Can anyone help me understand what I need to check for compatibility? Thanks!

Yes, they are compatible! Just make sure to keep a couple of things in mind. First, check the physical size of the SSD; most SSDs these days are 2280. Second, note the protocol: most M.2 drives now use NVMe, but there are also M.2 SATA SSDs that only run at SATA speeds (which is slower). Your motherboard supports both, but newer boards are moving away from M.2 SATA. Lastly, if your SSD is a newer PCIe 4.0 model, it will run at reduced speeds on your board since it can only support PCIe 3.0. Hope this helps!

So should I look for a PCIe 3.0 SSD instead?
